the SWEETZ!

i've been listening to The Sweets by Yeah Yeah Yeahs a lot. this probably isn't a good thing. it's kinda of intense. but it's good. i like the way the lyrics seem to not make sense, then everything comes boiling up and over the beaker that is my brain. this is the song. (: i really like their old album show your bones. It's quite grundgy and seems almost chaotic at first, but it's really good. in Cheated Hearts the melody is quite clear, but in The Sweets, for example, the melodies change and morph (that's the right word too) more. the album is just good alround.

the plants are going well. yesterday i made jam. i couldn't sleep last night so i watch fear and loathing in las vegas and some south park. all good son. no pictures in this post today. i can't think of where to find one, and i want breakfast. i'll leave you with this; chea bo. good work team.

have a nice day.

plant update!

they aren't as sick as they look. i promise! i'll keep you updated on their progress. (:

i went to georgia's house and saw the cutest baby hedgehogs (don't worry grandma - i didn't pick them up. ;] ). her and her brutha micheal have called them; brutus, edymond and juli... something. i think i got the names wrong, but hey, its all good. the hedgehogs are, however, are hell bent on ending their lives. georgia has a pond you see, and they are constantly trying to climb into it. hedgehogs (and this may be shocking) can't swim. they just.. can't, and therefore georgia has become head life-saver at her house's surf club.

i had other stuff to say, but i can't remember what it was. oh well.
have a good day (: toodles pip. (i've decided to now sign each post off with 'toodle pip,' because some people (my father for instance) think it'll encourge hunting nuts. which is true. so.. thanks for the constructive cristism! :)

dependents

I like gardening - but i hate having to get down on my knees and puyt my back into it - this is a problem. I want to do my bit to reduce carbon emissions (not having a car isn't good enough for me!), so the answer is... pot plants! I recently tried to grow mint on my windowsill, and that failed so badly, it wasn't even funny. I planted it this morning, I came home eight or so hours, and it was dead. It was super, duper dead. But I heard that you can pick a rose, and put it in some soil, so I'm trying that. Tomorrow I may get some proper ones. It's really nice to wake up, and see flowers waiting for their morning water, and for you to open the curtains. I think this is me trying to be responsible for something other than me. I think it'll work. Hopefully. I am going to get some pansies. They make everything good - just like a cup of tea sovles everything.

i love the mountains.

life is good. (: i'm seventeen, i have a boy on my arm, my friends are awesome, my family loves me.
life is just, awesome.

love forever.

I went as saw the Yayoi Kusama exhibition at wellington art gallery yesterday, and it sounds stupid, but it pretty much changed my life. No, correction; it left me feeling like i had found the answer to life, and became enlightened. There was one artwork, that was a room wall papered with wall paper (surprised?) that was yellow with black dots. Then inside the room, there were big blown-up shapes (two that hung from the ceiling, three on the ground) that were also yellow with black dots. It was quite a big room, and it made me feel hyper joyful. Like I didn't have to worry about anything at all, ever again - just because the room was so bright and happy, and free.

There were two rooms that had both the walls and the ceiling covered in mirrors. the back of the door was covered with a mirror as well. One of them had the floor covered with white-with-pink-polka-dots shapes that were about five-ish inches tall, but it varied. because of all the mirrors, it felt like there were millions of them, and heaps of you. like the scene was being reproduced heaps of times around you. Like literally strawberry fields forever.

but the most amazing was the other room, it had mirrors on the walls, on the roof and the back of the door. there was water all around the platform you stand on to look at the room, there was no source of light but two maybe three dozen bright, brightly coloured lights (think fairy lights, but separate) that hung from the ceiling on black wire. when the door closed, it was like being surrounded by infinity. everywhere you looked there was small dots of light. it was amazing. i can't even explain it. (:

happy hunting kids.

what a way.

Its not really a secret that I think pretty highly of The Mint Chicks. they're super awesome there's no doubt. I brought their new album (screens) the other day. They have changed a lot for Blue Team Go that's for sure. I still really like them, they're still really good, but the new album is pop. They use a lot of effects as well on the vocals and the whole album sounds like you're hearing it through a styrofoam cup. It annoyed me at first, because you can't hear anything properly, but its growing on me. A lot. They are my favorite new zealand band thats for sure.

inside a letterbox

I think that life is whatever you want to call it, or make it, or if you want to - break it. I think everything is all about context. I'm sitting in a room, and I could be mistaken, but I don't think there's a world out side my window. Its just a projection. Like when I'm driving in the car, and I start to feel like I'm in some sort of simulation and the car is staying in one place and jiggling about on machines as someone is projecting images of the world going past on the window. I don't know that I can accept realtiy right now.

dangerous days

There is a few reasons why i love summer. 1) because its summer. 2) its really nice and 3) because i can wear/buy as many sunglasses as my budject allows. I am thinking about asking for Karen Walker glasses (the ones on the left in the picture below). But then, i'm thinking, why not just get an old telly, a playstation one and some meeeeaan old games (because the telly will break, the playstation won't work and the games will be scratched). I think i just love sunglasses. One day i'll have to go to rehab, because i'll be stealing things and selling my kidneys to fund the addiction. I miss the girlies. I miss my bed. But its all good, because we're going out someplace today which will be fun. I wonder if i have to drink seventeen shots of tequila on my birthday. I doubt it. I need more sunglasses god damn it! Probably need a job more, but hey, i don't care. We'll see how it pans out. I'll keep you up to date.
